NYFW as an intern part one

I got the opportunity to intern at New York Fashion Week this September and this is my journey through my iPhone!
Right after we finished unpacking Shan (my fashion week partner in crime) hopped in a cab and headed straight to SOHO to do a little shopping.
Watch (which is now one sale), purse, sunglasses (similar here), jeans, shoes
From there we stumbled upon Eden Fine Arts Gallery where everything in the gallery was so eye-catching. I was so in love with this Warhol piece and the graffiti room.
Now lets get into it..
Romper (H&M), Purse, Shoes, Lipstick

Our first day we showed up to Orla Kiely's new shop on Bleecker Street where we met up with our internship manager's; Megan and Alice. Megan and Alice work for British Harpers Bazaar. Megan gave us the rundown of what was expected for the casting and how we would see about 100 models on the first day. We also worked with Orla Kiely, Darren Cross and Leith Clarke. Shan's job was to have the models sign in, collect their model cards and to make sure their hair was down and heels were on. From there I would video tape the models walking and snap a couple of pictures of them to review later. Out of no where the models started to roll in and Shan and I were running around like crazy people trying to make it look like this was not our first time working at fashion week. On the first day we saw about 375 models.

The second day was a little more relaxed, we saw a little over 100 models. This day we started to reach out to all of the girls agencies to see if the girls were  available on the day of the presentation. This is where the vision board came into affect; there were three boards, one board was the back-up's, second were girls that we wanted and the third were the girls that we were able to book for the presentation. The final board had the model's card on it with a polaroid of the girls in Orla's designs.  Finally, the designer's and stylist started to match each girls picture with the specific outfit for the presentation. At that point Shan and I were told we could leave for the day so we decided to go grab a drink and have a beautiful view of NYC. Stay tuned for my next post about the Orla Kiely show!
